ABOUT ISABELLA

Isabella Sanchez is a journalist, cinematographer, social media coordinator, business owner, and food enthusiast. Her work has appeared in Ottawa Life Magazine, the Charlatan, and Capital Current.  Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Isabella moved to Canada's capital to pursue a combined honours degree in Journalism and Communication and Media Studies at Carleton University.  

 

Since moving to Ottawa during the pandemic, Isabella has worked a multitude of positions, including a feature writer for Ottawa Life Magazine where she discovered a love of food journalism after interviewing a controversial culinary chef. Isabella has also worked as a web communications advisor for Carleton University, and a social media coordinator for Lotful Realty, a local real estate company. These opportunities have highlighted her working knowledge of software, including Final Cut Pro, Jira Software, Emplifi, SoundCloud, Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Audio, and Lightroom.

 

 As a Hispanic American with dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship, Isabella brings a unique cross-cultural lens to her journalism. She is fluent in Spanish and English and believes storytelling can bridge cultures. Isabella has also managed her own balloon-twisting business since the age of eleven. As an entrepreneur, she understands the entrepreneurial spirit and the importance of networking and engaging in conversations with individuals of diverse perspectives.
